Where do I begin, there are so many of them out there these days, many fail, I know that but I’d like to start something up and be one of them that succeed. Not necessarily succeed big time making millions but at least get something going to the extent that I don’t have to have a full time occupation any longer. Now I’m not saying I have a brilliant idea and that I will make this happen tomorrow, far from it actually, I’d say it’s more of a dream at this stage.
So how do one find a good idea to kick something like this off? I’ve been wondering about that myself for a long time now, I do have some ideas but nothing that feels like it could be a success. Many of the ideas I come up with are just too plain or not interesting enough for me personally and for that reason I think they will fail. I can just see myself starting something I’m not really interested in and then just dropping it before it finishes or before it really takes off. So here I am, trying to not just come up with a brilliant idea with an idea I would fall in love with myself and once I find that combination I think I might actually be on to something.
Another aspect of this is that I’d like to make this happen without a venture company, without someone pushing a million pounds into it. I want to create it myself, publish it and make it all work, all on my own, with some help from my loved one of course.
So how am I going about trying to find my perfect idea. Well, some of the thoughts I have around ideas are very high level, I’m sort of trying to find a niche area or some area of interest such as development, business, social media etc. Something that will bring enough attention from me to look into actually coming up with some ideas. Once I have a few ideas I start tearing them to pieces, looking for business value, possible return (hey, it’s all about the money in the end) and also evaluating if I’m interested enough in the idea.
This all seems good but don’t get me wrong, I’m not going through 5 ideas per day or something, this happens over weeks, sometimes months, there is nothing I can do to speed this up really, I’ve just learnt that I have to let it come naturally.
